Player Props FAQ
How to read sportsbook odds and compare them with PrizePicks.
What do O β106 and U β125 mean?
O means Over and U means Under. The prop line is the stat target. The number beside O or U is the sportsbook price in American odds.
- O β106: Risk $106 to win $100 in profit on the Over. Break-even rate: about 51.5%.
- U β125: Risk $125 to win $100 in profit on the Under. Break-even rate: about 55.6%.
If a quote literally reads U β25, double-check the sportsbook before using it. That is not a standard American odds display.
If the sportsbook leans Under, should I choose Less?
At the same line, a more expensive Under suggests the sportsbook leans that way. Treat it as one clue. The price includes the sportsbookβs margin, and PrizePicks entry payouts work differently.
Example: The sportsbook leans Under 24.5 points. If PrizePicks also lists 24.5, that supports looking at Less. But if PrizePicks lists 22.5, a player who scores 23 goes Under at the sportsbook and More on PrizePicks. Less would lose on PrizePicks.
What should I check before choosing More or Less?
- Make sure the player, game, stat, and period match.
- Compare the sportsbook line with the exact PrizePicks line.
- Check whether your projection supports the same side at the PrizePicks number. If the evidence is mixed, itβs fine to skip the prop.
